Harvest Ridge Elementary loves its community. They always come together for a great cause, whether it be raising money for charity or just getting together for one big family gathering – as they did on Feb. 25. Stuck on Charity – Harvest Ridge students raise money for Special Olympics

It happens – we get stuck from time to time. We can be stuck in traffic, stuck at home in a snowstorm, or stuck in a line at the cafeteria. But if you make a promise to some students at Harvest Ridge Elementary, you might just get stuck to the wall. The school’s principal, Dr. Natalie DeWeese, challenged her students that if they could reach a goal of $500 in donations to Special Olympics, she would allow them to duct tape her to the wall of the school gym. Harvest Ridge assembles to Play 60 with the St. Louis Rams

Get out and play. The St. Louis Rams have a program called Play 60, a National Football League-wide initiative to get kids to do just that. Their Play 60 Game Show Assembly program and their interactive Play 60 Bus – the first of its kind in the NFL – visited Harvest Ridge Elementary in the Francis Howell School District (FHSD) to tackle the health problems associated with inactivity.  READ MORE...
Harvest Ridge Teacher Wins International Award

Across the Francis Howell School District (FHSD), teachers are making it happen in the classroom, constantly seeking new ways to integrate technology into the classroom. One FHSD teacher, Andrew Wall from Harvest Ridge, is so far out on the cutting edge of technology integration that he was recently recognized by the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) as this year’s Making IT Happen award winner.  READ MORE...
