My name is Mrs. Bayne.  I began my career as a second grade teacher at Becky David.  I came to Harvest Ridge when it opened in 1991.  I taught second grade for a total of ten years.  I began teaching first grade in 2001, and have been enjoying it ever since.
My elementary years were spent in the Fort Zumwalt School District.  I received my Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Lindewood College.  I took many classes in early childhood education and gifted education.  I decided early on that I prefer to work with the younger students.  My gifted training prompted my desire to provide learning and questioning that promotes higher level thinking skills.
I have been married for 25 years.  My husband and I have three son.  They all attended Harvest Ridge.  My youngest son is a senior at Francis Howell High School.  My other two sons are in college studying to be engineers.
Our family has 2 dogs, Max and Milo.  They are very energitic.  They love to play ball and catch the frisbee.  We spend lots of time at the dog park.
I have a passion for learning.  I spend a great deal of time learning how to incorporate technology into my classroom.  I spend hours a week on my computer or ipad learning new ways to have students publish their work and learn.
Another great passion of mine is reading.  I love to read.  I have both an ipad and a kindle.  I read daily, for fun.  I hope to instill my passions into my students.
